Public Involvement

Public Involvement played an essential role in designing a bridge that meets the community’s needs while remaining financially feasible. The project engaged the communities of Milton and Madison through public meetings, a Project Advisory Group (PAG) and ongoing consultation with project stakeholders.
Stakeholders are defined as any individual or group with an interest in the project, such as property owners, business owners, elected officials or neighborhood associations.
The PAG is a group representative of the stakeholders. The PAG provides input to the decision-making process by KYTC and INDOT.
Information about the current status of the project is available to the public, through:
- Meetings with the general public
- Project Web site, for announcements, exhibits, meeting minutes and updated project news
- Newsletters providing updates throughout the project
- Surveys and electronic preference polling at public meetings to gather input at project milestones
- Project information displays at public locations in Madison and Milton
